Should The Department of Agriculture increase incentives for sustainable production and processing?

Sustainable agriculture has been an issue in America for many years and has become even more prominent as commercial and large scale farming increases. Consequences from large-scale industrial agriculture have a huge impact on the environment. Commercial farming policy needs to reformed in order to reduce pollution and overall impact on the planet. Obama has said he will work hard to improve environmental standards, but the non-industrial agriculture community is doubtful. Tom Vilsack, Obama’s secretary of agriculture, is not known to be enthusiastic about agriculture reform, but insists he and the new administration will improve America’s farming industry.
