Support:
President Barack Obama
Vice President Joe Biden
These two prominent polititions pair up to promote sustainable agriculture and decreased pollution from America’s farms. Obama and Biden lead the the executive branch of the U.S. government toward improving financial and environmental problems with commercial/family farming.
Audience and Agenda:
Whitehouse.gov and its policies are funded by U.S. tax payers. Whitehouse.gov is intended to display transparency and inform citizens throughout the policy making process. Their message is intended for all Americans. And citizens seem to be listening as whitehouse.gov has become on the most popular sites on the web, reaching several million people.
Usefulness:
Obama has just arrived into the oval office and anything he says about anything is cutting edge and this is no different. The agenda on rural America was created to show all Americans what the new administration has planned for families living outside city limits. One of the dominating topics addressed is the relationship between local, family owned farms and commercial farming. President Obama intends on increasing incentives for both local farms and anyone conducting sustainable practices. Fighting methamphetamine use in rural areas is another area of interest for Obama but, he neglects to mention just how he will do this. Supporters of NACM’s Petition are sure to be happy about what is outlined, as many of their requests looked to be granted.
