Audience and Agenda:
This photo and its respective article were posted on The Center for Alternative Development Initiatives (CADI)‘s website. The CADI is very popular in the Philippines, and their work with environmental initiatives has had effects around the word, unfortunately the number of hits this particular photo has received is not clear.Niconar Perlas is an accomplished writer with more than 300 hundred articles published on an assortment of topics from agriculture to multiple intelligences.CADI is a privately funded, non-government Philippine based organization.Niconar Perlas.is the president of the organization. The CADI works to promote sustainable development in the hopes that sustainable practices will become ”societal policies.”
Usefulness:
This image was very useful because it defines the most important term within my should question: Sustainable Agriculture. Niconar Perlas coined this term in 1984, but didn’t publish this image until 1993. Reading how the author of sustainable agriculture defined and used the term was extremely informative. He is one of the best sources to analyze when researching agricultural sustainability.
